Making a Twitch was the last thing we thought we were ever going to. We're supposed to the place for people that barely have time to game, let alone waste time watching others' play and getting even further behind on our piles of shame/backlogs and yet here we are :) In preparation for the stream coverage of Pros vs Joes, we had to figure a lot of this stuff yet do it our own fashion i.e. we wont be a regular or round the clock channel like others. Tight time frames, occasional events etc fit our demographic. However.. now we may have two regular shows coming up :) and now we're about to introduce our first.
Announcing our first show, the deliberately awful and "4 teh lulz" #EffGC show was created and named for two reasons
1) To poke fun at some of the worst top 8 event payouts from the FGC in recent years where top players have found themselves fighting out of large pools often only to be presented with less money than the price of gas just to get to the event. We PAY notable FGC folks the same as these payouts to be on as guests to relax and play random garbage fighting games that they (and we) usually don't know, laugh at each other and not even have to win just to make this point. If you'd like to be considered as a guest, please email us with some info about yourself, notable finishes, social media handles etc. Bonus points if you've actually won some of these awful payouts and have a great story. We may give you a little extra sympathy money ;)
2) Low budget content marketing to spread awareness among fighting game fans of our upcoming Pros vs Joes tournament series (Street Fighter V, Tekken 7, Granblue Versus, Soul Calibur VI) with $1800 gold coin prizes, free stuff and more. This event is intended for those who always wondered if they were actually competitive but have never had a chance to travel to the "big events" like EVO, Combo Breaker etc to have a shot at playing "pros" that have placed well or won at such events or similar. Bonus if you also make combo videos in your spare time but havent had the chance to do it "for real.
